Who we are
Ohana Assistance Foundation’s transitional housing program is a short-term living arrangement designed to support individuals and families as they move from crisis situations such as homelessness, domestic violence, or substance recovery into stable, permanent housing. The program offers a safe, structured, and supportive environment where residents can stabilize their lives, regain confidence, and begin planning for a sustainable future. Lengths of stay typically range from several months up to two years, depending on each participant’s needs, progress, and individualized housing plan.
Beyond providing shelter, Ohana Assistance Foundation emphasizes intensive case management as a core component of its program. Each resident works closely with a dedicated case manager who provides personalized guidance, goal-setting, and ongoing support. This hands-on approach ensures that barriers to stability such as unemployment, limited education, or financial challenges are addressed in a coordinated and effective way.
A strong focus is placed on job readiness and employment security. Residents receive support with resume development, interview preparation, workplace skills, and job placement assistance, with the goal of securing stable, long-term employment. To further strengthen economic independence, Ohana Assistance Foundation partners with local vocational and trade schools, helping participants gain marketable skills in high-demand fields. When available, scholarship assistance is provided to reduce financial barriers and allow residents to pursue education and certifications that lead to higher-paying, sustainable careers.
Additional supportive services include mental health counseling, financial literacy and budgeting support, life skills development, and connections to community resources. Together, these services are designed to address the root causes of housing instability and equip residents with the tools needed for long-term success. By combining safe housing with comprehensive, employment-focused support, Ohana Assistance Foundation’s transitional housing program creates a strong foundation for lasting change and a clear pathway toward independence and self-sufficiency.
